what we do
Saving lives through knowledge:
Better obstetrics for Africa
In many African countries, obstetrics is under-resourced, leading to high maternal and infant mortality rates. Our missions focus on the further training of midwives and doctors to ensure safe births and to identify complications early on.
We teach skills such as ultrasound examinations and newborn resuscitation to sustainably improve local obstetrics, especially in remote areas with little specialist staff.
Life-saving pediatric surgery:
Training for more precise diagnoses and safe operations
The care of children with surgical problems is inadequate in many African countries. Our programs train doctors in the diagnosis and treatment of malformations, trauma and emergency procedures.
During our missions, we teach practical skills so that local doctors can safely perform life-saving operations. In this way, we improve pediatric surgery in the long term and strengthen the local healthcare system.
Life-saving respiratory therapy:
Training in diagnosis and emergency care
Respiratory diseases such as pneumonia and asthma are widespread in many African countries, especially among children. We train doctors and nurses in the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases and provide emergency treatment for shortness of breath.
With a focus on clinical examination techniques without extensive technology, we improve the care of respiratory diseases and reduce mortality from untreated lung diseases.
